About Rosamund's Bower

Rosamund's Bower is a site dedicated to gathering the best free patience and solitaire games from the internet and putting them together in one place. We pride ourselves in having a good selection of games, but if you know of any we've missed, please contact us! The games here require the adobe flash player, but that's pretty common these days. If there's a patience game you really want to play online, we may be able to write it for you too!

What's in a name?

Rosamund's Bower is named after the patience game of the same type. This in turn is named for the mistress of King Henry II of England, Rosamund Clifford. Legend has it that Henry built her a house (her "bower") at the Royal Palace of Woodstock in Oxfordshire, which was surrounded by a labyrinth in order to protect her from Henry's wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine.
